Summer has come to an end. Rowan Connors, a cynical, trouble-making 15-year-old, is entering their third year of high school.

As things are now, Rowan has no real friends, ambitions, or sound leadership. Most of the Blue Ridge Secondary School faculty have given up on the student becoming anything other than a lazy, self-destructive delinquent. But this may all come to change, and it starts one fateful day with an incident involving homemade paint, an after-school detention, and a teacher who has all but given up on himself.
